Every child has different strengths, challenges and ways of learning. Our approach begins by understanding the individual child, their family and the situations that matter most in their everyday life.
AKP’s New Jersey team provides individualized support for communication, behavior, social participation, routines and greater independence. Therapy goals are developed collaboratively and adjusted as each child progresses.
Unlike our Miami Shores clinic, our current New Jersey services are delivered in homes, schools, daycare settings and community environments. This allows our clinicians to work on practical skills where children naturally use them while collaborating closely with parents, caregivers, educators and other professionals.

Which pediatric therapy services does AKP currently provide in New Jersey?
Our initial New Jersey services include ABA therapy and speech therapy. We also help families access autism diagnostic evaluations through our trusted diagnostic partner. Service availability depends on location, clinical need, insurance and clinician capacity.
What parts of New Jersey does AKP serve?
Our initial service area includes Ridgewood, Montclair, Glen Ridge, Livingston and surrounding Northern New Jersey communities where therapist availability allows.
Can AKP provide therapy at my child’s school or daycare?
School or daycare-based services may be possible when clinically appropriate, covered by the child’s plan and permitted by the school or childcare provider.
Does my child need an autism diagnosis before beginning therapy?
A formal autism diagnosis is generally required for insurance-funded ABA therapy. Speech therapy may be available without an autism diagnosis when evaluation findings show that treatment is appropriate. Requirements depend on the service and insurance plan.
Does AKP have a pediatric therapy clinic in New Jersey?
AKP does not currently operate a physical New Jersey clinic. New Jersey services are primarily delivered in homes, schools, daycare facilities and community settings. Teletherapy may also be available when appropriate.
Does AKP provide in-home ABA therapy in New Jersey?
In-home ABA therapy may be available for eligible families based on location, clinical recommendations, therapist capacity and insurance authorization.
Which insurance plans does AKP accept in New Jersey?
AKP participates with selected New Jersey insurance plans. Participation differs between ABA and speech therapy and may also vary by individual provider. Our intake team will verify your specific benefits before services begin.
Can my child receive more than one type of therapy?
Some children benefit from more than one service. Recommendations should be based on the child’s individual needs, and coverage must be confirmed separately for each therapy.
