Helping Miami Children Build Skills for Everyday Life

Every child has their own strengths, challenges and way of experiencing the world. Our role is to understand the whole child and develop support around the skills that matter in their everyday life.

At Always Keep Progressing, therapy is personalized around the child’s clinical needs, developmental goals and family priorities. Depending on the services recommended, goals may focus on:

  • Communicating wants, needs and ideas
  • Understanding language and following directions
  • Developing speech clarity
  • Navigating routines and transitions
  • Building social and play skills
  • Increasing independence in everyday activities
  • Developing fine-motor and sensory-processing skills
  • Expanding feeding skills and food acceptance
  • Expressing emotions through music, movement or art
  • Participating more confidently at home, at school and in the community

Our Miami clinicians work collaboratively so families are not left trying to connect separate recommendations from multiple providers on their own.

Pediatric Therapy Services Available in Miami

AKP offers a broad range of pediatric therapies at our Miami center. Service recommendations are based on an individual evaluation and may include one therapy or a coordinated combination of services.

ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis, commonly called ABA therapy, helps children develop meaningful skills through individualized teaching, positive reinforcement and careful observation of how they learn. ABA therapy may support communication, social interaction, play, routines, transitions, emotional regulation, safety and greater independence. At AKP, goals are selected around the individual child and the priorities that matter to their family.

Autism Diagnostic Evaluations

Always Keep Progressing helps families access formal autism diagnostic evaluations through our trusted diagnostic partner, Autism Testing 4 Kids. Providers can refer a patient for evaluation support, and our team will help the family understand the appropriate pathway and next steps.

Music Therapy

Music therapy uses rhythm, sound, movement and musical interaction to work toward individualized developmental and therapeutic goals.

Sessions may support communication, attention, social interaction, emotional expression, motor development and participation. Musical experience is not required; activities are adapted around the child’s interests and abilities.

Speech and Language Therapy

Pediatric speech therapy supports children who experience challenges involving speech clarity, language development, social communication, fluency or communicating their needs.

Our speech-language pathologists create engaging, developmentally appropriate sessions around each child’s strengths and communication goals.

Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy supports children who experience difficulty with eating, drinking, chewing, swallowing, food textures, mealtime routines or accepting a suitable range of foods.

Our clinicians evaluate the factors influencing a child’s feeding and develop individualized goals intended to make eating safer, more manageable and less stressful for the child and family.

Art Therapy

Art therapy gives children a creative way to communicate, explore emotions and participate in therapeutic activities with the guidance of a qualified professional.

Depending on the child’s goals, sessions may support emotional expression, self-awareness, coping skills, confidence, sensory exploration and social participation.

Occupational Therapy

Pediatric occupational therapy helps children develop skills needed to participate more independently in everyday activities.

Depending on the child’s needs, therapy may support fine-motor development, sensory processing, handwriting, dressing, self-care, coordination, play, school participation and daily routines.

Language Therapy

Language therapy can help children understand spoken language and use words, sentences or other communication methods more effectively.

Support may address expressive language, receptive language, vocabulary, grammar, answering questions, following directions, storytelling and participating in conversations.

Stuttering Therapy

Stuttering therapy supports children who repeat sounds or words, prolong sounds, experience speech blocks or feel tension or anxiety when speaking.

Therapy is tailored to the individual child and may focus on communication confidence, fluency strategies, self-advocacy and reducing pressure around speaking.
