The Purpose of a Dyslexia Evaluation and Recommendation Report
A dyslexia evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s reading and language abilities. The report is typically prepared by a qualified professional, such as a clinical psychologist, educational psychologist, speech-language pathologist, or neuropsychologist, who has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of dyslexia.
What to Expect During a Feeding Therapy Evaluation
The evaluation process may involve a range of assessments, including standardized tests of reading and writing abilities, language proficiency, cognitive abilities, and behavioral observations. At AKP, A speech-language pathologist will gather information from multiple sources, such as the individual being evaluated, parents or caregivers, and teachers or other professionals who work with the individual.
The report will typically include information about the individual’s strengths and weaknesses in various areas related to reading and language, as well as any specific areas of difficulty. It will also include a formal diagnosis of dyslexia, if applicable, along with recommendations for interventions and accommodations to support the individual’s learning and academic success.
In addition to providing a diagnosis and recommendations for treatment, our dyslexia evaluation report can also be used to inform educational planning and decision-making, such as determining eligibility for special education services or accommodations in academic settings.
