Miguel

Board Certified Music Therapist
Hello, my name is Miguel, and I'm from Lima, Peru. I finished my first bachelor degree in Piano Performance at the National Conservatory of Music of Peru and since then, I have been giving piano lessons to people of all ages, especially to children. I came to the US to get two other bachelor degrees: Piano Performance and Music Therapy at Florida Gulf Coast University. At FGCU, during my major, I had the privilege to work with children at the Golisano Children Hospital, and with the House of Music Therapy clinic as a practicum student where I confirmed my passion for working with children. After graduating I went on to complete my Music Therapy internship in Virginia where I worked with older adults, and then came back to Florida to start working at AKP. I believe that music is part of us as human beings and also a reflection of ourselves. That is why music is so important in our lives when we pass through our own personal challenges and difficulties. As a music therapist, I will use music to help your children achieve their goals and also have fun in the process.
